Fire and Emergency Services
Existing Fire Districts will continue to service Fairwood residents

Fire District 40 currently provides fire protection and emergency medical services to almost all of the neighborhoods in the community of Fairwood.  The Berk study suggests that the City not take over responsiblity for providing these services.  Residents will continue to receive protection and service from their current Fire District.

Fire District 40

Fire District 40 is a full service fire district that provides its own stations, apparatus and personnel.  Read more about Fire District 40.

Medic One

Advanced life support services are provided by King County Medic One, which is a regional service that will continue to be provided after Fairwood becomes a City.  Read more about Medic One.

Fire District 37

Fire District 37 services the southern most neighborhoods of the Fairwood community, below SE 192nd Street. Services to district residents are provided by the City of Kent Fire Department, under contract from District 37.

Actions of the Boundary Review Board in June 2006, require comment, concerning the map (below)

  • The two small areas served by Fire District #25 were removed from the proposed City of Fairwood.
  • Lindbergh High School and the Renton Park neighborhood were removed from the proposed City of Fairwood, but remain within the area served by Fire District #40.
