Officers protect and serve the citizens of the City of Fairwood

The Fairwood Police will have distinctive uniforms and patrol cars.  However, each of the officers is a King County Sheriff officer, attached to the contract services division.

Police Chief

The police chief will report to the City Manager.  He or she will provide day-to-day supervision for the police officers.

Police Officers

The police officers will be on long-term assignment to the City of Fairwood.

The City will likely contract for police services.  The level of service (staffing level) will be determined by the contracting model that may be adopted by the City.  The proposed budget provides an enhanced level of service than is currently provided by the county.

Many cities in King County contract for police services from the Sheriff's office: Beaux Arts, BurienCovington, Kenmore, Maple Valley, Newcastle, North Bend, Sammamish, SeaTac, Shoreline, Skykomish, and Woodinville
